The Mekong Delta in southern Vietnam offers a distinct advantage with its fertile soil, perfect for growing tropical fruit. For generations, fruit cultivation has been second nature to local farmers. Larger export companies have increasingly focused on adding value to agricultural exports by investing in modern technology to produce premium products, such as frozen or processed fruits, rather than just exporting fresh fruits as in the past. However, most of this value extraction revolves around the fruit, while other valuable parts of the plant, like roots, stems, and leaves, are often overlooked.
